This restroom is just a small part of the superb, contemporary overhaul of the Hotel Side in Hamburg, by Italian architect and designer Matteo Thun.

Around the hotel’s pool and wellness area, big slabs of bold colour are juxtaposed, creating a vibrant, refreshing atmosphere.

The colour blocks emphasise the simple geometry of the internal layout, whilst at the same time energising it.

The pictured restroom’s floor and central plinth has been covered with a single colour of 20mm SMALTO mosaic (SM 15), rich with swirls of pink pigments.
